SnackHoot Terms and Conditions
Last updated: November 2, 2026 · See also our Privacy Policy.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Plus One Technologies Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Plus One," "SnackHoot," "we," "us"), which operates the SnackHoot Vending Network website and app at snackhoot.com and related services (the "Platform"). By using the Platform you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Platform.
1. What SnackHoot is
SnackHoot is a marketplace. It connects independent snack and vending machine operators ("Vendors") with people who want to buy from their machines ("Buyers"). Buyers can find machines, see what's in stock, and pay from their phone so the machine vends their item ("pay-to-vend").
- SnackHoot is not the seller. Each Vendor owns and runs its own machines and is the seller of the products in them. The sale is between the Buyer and the Vendor.
- We don't make, store, handle, or inspect the products, and we don't own or service Vendors' machines.
- Machine locations, stock, and prices come from Vendors and machine data. We try to keep them accurate but can't guarantee them.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account, become a Vendor, or pay. If you are younger, you may use the Platform only with a parent's or guardian's permission and involvement.
- You can browse and find machines without an account. You can also pay without an account.
- Sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your email. We don't use passwords for Buyer and Vendor accounts. Keep access to your email account secure: anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
- Buyer accounts and Vendor accounts are separate. Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
3. Purchases and pay-to-vend
- When you choose an item and pay, we send a vend command to the machine. Prices are set by the Vendor and shown before you pay.
- Stay at the machine until it vends. Follow any instructions on screen.
- All sales are final once the item vends, except as required by law or as described below. Product quality, freshness, or other product issues are handled by the Vendor first (see Section 10).
4. Failed vends and automatic refunds
If you pay and the machine doesn't confirm that it vended your item (for example, it's offline, jammed, or the item is out), we automatically refund the full amount to your original payment method. You don't have to ask. Refunds usually show up in 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider. If you think a refund is missing, contact us (Section 18).
5. Payments
- Card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, and Cash App Pay are processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe") on Stripe's secure pages. PayPal and Venmo are coming soon and, when available, will be processed by PayPal.
- SnackHoot never sees or stores your full card number. If you choose to save a card, Stripe stores it and we keep only a reference to it, its brand, and its last 4 digits.
- Your use of a payment method is also subject to the terms of Stripe, Cash App, PayPal, or Venmo, as applicable.
- Sales may be charged on the Vendor's own Stripe account, so the Vendor's name, or a combination of SnackHoot and the Vendor, may appear on your statement.
- While the Platform shows a "TEST MODE" notice, no real money is charged and no real products are sold.
6. Vendor accounts and payouts (Stripe Connect)
- To accept app payments, a Vendor connects a Stripe account through Stripe Connect. Stripe verifies the Vendor's identity and business and collects bank details directly. SnackHoot doesn't see or store Vendors' bank or ID details.
- Payment processing services for Vendors on SnackHoot are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement (together, the "Stripe Services Agreement"). By agreeing to these Terms or continuing to operate as a Vendor on SnackHoot, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Services Agreement, as Stripe may modify it from time to time. As a condition of SnackHoot enabling payment processing services through Stripe, you agree to give SnackHoot accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you authorize SnackHoot to share it and transaction information related to your use of Stripe's payment processing services.
- Money from each app sale goes to the Vendor's Stripe account, and Stripe pays it out to the Vendor's bank on the Vendor's Stripe payout schedule. Vendors manage payouts, refunds, and disputes in their own Stripe Dashboard.
- Until a Vendor finishes Stripe setup and Stripe enables card payments, Buyers can't pay by card at that Vendor's machines (cash and coins at the machine still work).
- Any payouts that SnackHoot itself makes to a Vendor are reviewed and approved by SnackHoot before they are sent.
7. Fees for Vendors
- Platform fee: SnackHoot charges a platform fee of 3% of each app sale. There is no flat per-sale fee. The fee is deducted automatically from the sale through Stripe.
- If a sale is fully refunded because of a failed vend, the 3% platform fee on that sale is refunded too.
- Payment processing: Stripe charges its card processing fees directly to the Vendor's Stripe account, at the rates shown by Stripe. These fees are separate from the SnackHoot platform fee.
- Retrofit: Vendors with standard coin machines who need the SnackHoot retrofit kit to enable pay-to-vend pay a one-time retrofit fee of $349 per machine.
- Subscription: Vendors pay a monthly fee for each machine listed on SnackHoot: $19.99 per month for each newer tap-to-pay (smart) machine and $12 per month for each standard coin (retrofit) machine. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and fees already paid are not refunded except where required by law.
- Volume discount: The monthly machine fees are discounted automatically based on the total number of machines on the vendor's account: 1 to 4 machines, standard price; 5 to 19 machines, 10% off ($17.99 per tap-to-pay machine and $10.80 per coin machine per month); 20 or more machines, 20% off ($15.99 and $9.60 per month). The volume discount applies only to the monthly machine fees. It does not apply to the 3% per-sale platform fee or to the one-time $349 retrofit fee.
- We may change fees with at least 30 days' notice to Vendors. Changes don't apply to sales or billing periods that started before the change.
- Vendors are responsible for all taxes on their sales and income. Amounts are in U.S. dollars and exclude applicable taxes unless stated.
8. Vendor responsibilities
Vendors agree to:
- Keep machine listings, inventory, prices, and machine status accurate and up to date, and fix errors promptly.
- Sell only safe, legal, properly labeled products that aren't expired, recalled, or tampered with, and follow all food safety, storage, and handling rules.
- Hold and keep current all business licenses, permits, health permits, location agreements, and registrations needed to operate their machines.
- Collect and pay all sales, use, and income taxes and file all required returns.
- Keep machines in safe working order and respond to restock alerts and Buyer issues within a reasonable time.
- Follow all laws that apply to their business, including laws on age-restricted products (which may not be sold through the Platform unless we approve it in writing).
9. Prohibited use
You may not:
- Use the Platform for anything illegal, fraudulent, or harmful.
- Make fake purchases, refund claims, chargebacks, or restock alerts.
- Interfere with machines, the Platform, or other users, or try to get around security, rate limits, or payment steps.
- Access accounts, data, or systems you're not authorized to use, or scrape, copy, or reverse engineer the Platform except as the law allows.
- Upload malware, or send spam or abusive content.
- List products you don't have the right to sell, or misrepresent a product, price, or machine.
10. Problems, disputes, and chargebacks
- Product problems: if an item is wrong, damaged, or not as described, contact us and we'll pass it to the Vendor, or contact the Vendor directly if their contact details are posted on the machine. The Vendor is responsible for resolving product problems. We may help Buyers and Vendors resolve issues, but we aren't required to.
- Failed vends are refunded automatically (Section 4).
- Chargebacks: if a Buyer disputes a charge with their bank, the dispute is handled through Stripe's dispute process on the Vendor's Stripe account. The Vendor is responsible for responding with evidence through Stripe, and for the disputed amount and any dispute fees if the dispute is lost. We may share order and vend records with the Vendor and Stripe to help.
- Please contact us before filing a chargeback. Most problems can be fixed faster directly.
11. Intellectual property
The Platform, including the SnackHoot name, logo, software, and design, belongs to Plus One or its licensors. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the Platform under these Terms. Product names, brands, and packaging images belong to their owners and are shown only to identify products. Vendors give us permission to display their business name, machine details, and listings on the Platform.
12. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the Platform, any machine, or any payment will always be available, error-free, or secure, or that listings are accurate. Products are sold by Vendors, and any product warranties come from the Vendor or manufacturer, not from SnackHoot.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Plus One and its officers, employees, and agents won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from or related to the Platform or these Terms. Our total liability for any claim related to the Platform or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid through the Platform, or for Vendors the fees you paid to SnackHoot, in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
14. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend and indemnify Plus One against claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Platform, your violation of these Terms or the law, or, for Vendors, your products, machines, listings, taxes, and business operations.
15. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Platform at any time. Vendors can cancel by contacting us. We may suspend or end your access, remove listings, or disable payments if you break these Terms, if needed to prevent fraud, harm, or legal risk, or if required by Stripe or the law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including fees owed, disputes, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will survive.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, and you and we consent to those courts, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the new version on this page with a new "last updated" date, and for important changes we'll give reasonable notice (for example by email or in the app). If you keep using the Platform after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
